This 116 page book is
chock full of illustrations drawn just for this book depicting
dozens of historical characters that have things named after them and their
basic biographical data written in a fun and easy to read "Farmers Almanac"
style.
For example, just a few names that are covered include: Faneuil (Hall), Copley
(Square), Tobin (Bridge), Sumner (Tunnel), Logan (Airport), Zakim (Bridge),
Sullivan (Square), Gilmore (Bridge), Leverett (Circle) etc.
These books now come in several city and town versions that include customized
covers highlighting that city or town's important historical characters and 20
golden 'bonus pages' written in the same manor described above but specific to
that city or town covering who the people were who had schools, bridges, roads,
etc. named after them. These books are ultimately written as much for a life
long resident of the area as for someone visiting. Approximately 8 out of 10
books sold are bought by local people and given as excellent gifts to friends
and family living locally. They are intentionally limited for sale to a few
stores and come in a beautiful clear top gift box that ultimately makes them the
perfect gift for any age. Over 1,000 books have sold over a few years and almost
100% of the people are astonished at the uniqueness.
(Many people comment that they like these books much better than the old style
black & white photo books for sale at all local book stores and that they are
great for gift giving for the reasons noted above.)
